31 Days to Become a Better Writer – Day 7

Day 7

Today’s challenge:

Write about a point in your life when you have experienced the “bird’s eye view”.  It can be a time you were flying, or a time when you looked back on your life and have seen how the pieces fit together.

I peered out the window of the plane, then quickly turned away and resumed eating gummy bears. I wasn’t exactly fond of heights, even though I had rarely been high up. I turned to my right to look out the window again. Now my stomach didn’t feel as queasy. After about fifteen minutes of me leaning my head against the plane’s wall and looking out the window, the view was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The pieces of land were shaped into perfect circles. Occasionally, bits of cloud would float by. I would close my eyes and imagine myself floating in the sky, flying about like some sort of angel. I opened my eyes. Clouds passed by the tiny, circular window. I realized how beautiful this Earth is, how lucky we are to be alive. I thank God for creating this fantastic place to live! This brilliant home, that is even more beautiful…

From a bird’s eye view.

  1. Beautiful! It’s like I was there even though it’s been years and years since I have flown in a plane. ❤

  2. Patti

Even though I hate to fly, the way you wrote this calmed me enough to want to fly!
