31 Days to Become a Better Writer – Day 13

Day 13

Today’s challenge:

Choose five words to describe your voice or what you know of your voice.  I know, here I go with the lists again.  Then take two or three excerpts of your writing and see if your writing matches up with what you know of your voice.  Pick out a few ways that the writing lets your unique voice shine through and a few areas on which you could improve.   What keeps you from writing in your own voice?

———–

I think these words describe my voice:

  1. Witty
  2. Occasionally serious
  3. Funny
  4. Sometimes, hyper
  5. Happy

I believe my story about The Discovery of the Bow and Arrow shows the happy and witty side. My 30 Day Blog Challenge – Day 6 where I talked about kittens definitely shows my hyper side. My 30 Day Blog Challenge – Day 11 shows my occasional serious side. And pretty much everything I write has something (that I think is) funny in it.

What else do you think my voice has?

    Damaris,

I’m doing the 31 days as well, and wanted to drop in and tell you that I really enjoyed your bow and arrow story. I think your mama is right in that you are a story teller.

  2. I really like your Bow and Arrow story. I thought it was funny that you gave a Apollo a little ADD – look shiny thing! And I love kittens too. I don’t love litter pans, but kittens are always fun.
